Leo Vuosalo, Finnish by ethnic origin, was born in Canada and raised in Finland where he served two years of combat in the Finnish Army on the Eastern Front during World War II. He is bilingual. Steve Stone, Nebraskan by birth, rearing, and inclination. lived in Finland for ten years (1956-1966) where he married, raised two children, and learned the Finnish language. Both men have served as professors in American universities.
