Learn to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom and create your very own handwoven scarf. Rigid heddle looms are lightweight beginner-friendly table top looms. In addition to learning how to set up and use the loom, students will explore some basic color theory as they design their scarf.
Folk School rigid heddle looms will be available for use during the workshop. Students may opt to bring their own worsted weight yarn or to purchase yarn from the Folk School for an additional $40 materials fee. No weaving experience of any kind is required for this workshop. The weaving process involves the use of two arms and sitting at a table to operate the loom. The warping process has some physical demands, but an assistant can be present with advanced notice. Please let us know if you have questions or assistance needs.
